Decks & fences

Professional deck and wood cleaning using low pressure and specialized treatments to safely remove dirt, algae, and buildup.

Wood is soft, and a pressure washer held too close does not clean it so much as erode it. The soft summer growth cuts away faster than the hard grain, so the board comes out furred and ridged. It looks fine wet and terrible a week later once it has dried and raised.

The gray on a weathered deck is not dirt either — it is the surface of the timber itself, broken down by UV, with mildew in the pores under it. That comes off with a cleaner and a light touch rather than force.

If the deck is going to be sealed or stained afterwards, this is the step that decides how it takes. Stain sits on top of whatever is left behind.
