Rust removal

Orange staining from sprinklers, fertilizer and metal sitting on concrete.

Rust stains on concrete are more than surface discoloration. The iron can penetrate the pores of the concrete and oxidize below the surface, which is why pressure washing alone usually cannot remove the stain and may damage the concrete before producing a noticeable result.

These stains often come from sprinkler systems supplied by well water or from fertilizers containing iron. Because the source can continue creating new stains, identifying and correcting it is the best way to prevent the discoloration from returning.
